3 Best Supplements for Inflammation, Allergies & Immune Support

If you deal with sinus pressure, joint pain, inflammation, or tend to get sick easily—these are three of the most effective and underrated supplements I’ve found.

I’ve tested a lot over the years, and these are the ones I keep coming back to. I use them regularly for inflammation, immune support, and especially for sinus-related issues. They’ve helped me personally, and there’s research to back up why they work.

Here’s a breakdown of what each one does, how I use them, and what to look for when choosing a brand. When it comes to brands, I am most particular about choosing a safe turmeric product. I explain the details of that below and in the video. With the quercetin and NAC, there are a lot of great products offered by a variety of brands. I’m currently using the Now brand for both, just because they tend to have quality products that are affordable.

Quercetin: Antihistamine, Anti-Inflammatory, and Blood Pressure Support

Quercetin is a powerhouse for anyone dealing with inflammation, allergies, or even elevated blood pressure. According to a meta-analysis of randomized trials, doses above 500 mg/day led to significant reductions in blood pressure—especially in people with hypertension. It also acts as a natural antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer, which makes it incredibly helpful if you struggle with sinus issues, puffiness, or seasonal allergies.

In one placebo-controlled, double-blind study with 66 people, just 200 mg/day of quercetin reduced allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and even improved sleep. I’ve also done a personal experiment combining quercetin and turmeric, and I saw my blood pressure drop. Curcumin: Nature’s Ibuprofen (Without the Side Effects)

Curcumin is the active compound in turmeric—and it’s one of the most powerful natural anti-inflammatories out there.

One clinical trial with 367 participants showed that 1,500 mg/day of turmeric extract worked just as well as 1,200 mg of ibuprofen for knee osteoarthritis. And unlike ibuprofen, turmeric caused fewer side effects—especially digestive issues.

But, here’s something most people don’t know…

Stanford researchers uncovered a major contamination issue. In Bangladesh, some turmeric processors were intentionally coating the roots with lead chromate—a toxic yellow pigment used in paint—to make the spice look brighter and sell for more money.

That turmeric was exported all over the world, including to the U.S. Some batches had lead levels 500x the legal limit.

If your turmeric brand isn’t testing for heavy metals, you could be putting yourself at risk.

NAC: Incredible Immune Support 

NAC, or N-acetylcysteine, is a precursor to glutathione—your body’s master antioxidant. It plays a huge role in detox, oxidative stress, and immune function. It helps thin mucus, supports lung health, and is even used in hospitals to treat Tylenol overdoses.

During the pandemic, NAC started gaining popularity for immune support—and the FDA tried to ban it, claiming it had been previously classified as a drug. It was pulled from Amazon and many other online retailers. But, the backlash was huge. Eventually, the FDA backed off—though I’ve heard it’s still an ongoing issue.

Research Highlight: In a study of 262 people during flu season, only 25% of the NAC group developed symptoms (vs. 79% in the placebo group), even though both groups were exposed to the same virus. NAC didn’t prevent infection, but it dramatically reduced symptoms and improved immune response.
