Hi Dee!
That Paula's Choice product sounds like a really nice multi-acid blend.
For how often, the manufacturer says once a week and that's a fine starting point.

But honestly, it helps to just see how your skin responds first before locking into a schedule. If your skin is calm with no lingering redness or sensitivity between peels, once a week is usually fine. If not, space them out. Some weeks I do a peel, some weeks I skip it.

As for the 20% glycolic - once you've been doing the Paula's Choice peel for a while and your skin is handling it well, that's a good time to try it. I've always been able to do a 20% glycolic once a week without any issues, and to me 20% isn't too strong, but it just takes time for the skin to acclimate and everyone is different. Maybe try it every 2-3 weeks at first and see how you do.
And always wear sunscreen daily when you're peeling. I hope that helps!

Hi, I just discovered your YT channel a month ago and started my at home chemical peels with an 8% glycolic acid peel (Paula’s Choice which also includes other acids for a total 25% AHA peel). How often do you recommend using this type of peel? Instructions say once a week but not sure if this is overdoing it. And how often do you use the stronger (20%) glycolic acid peels?

Thanks so much for the comment, Heidi! I love mandelic acid. I hope it goes well using glycolic acid - it's my absolute favorite type of peel. Personally I'd wait at least 5-7 days after a glycolic peel before microneedling. But, it really depends on how your skin is responding (ie: how sensitive your skin is after that peel). If your skin is still feeling sensitive, it might be best to wait even longer.

This is so cool! I started with mandelic acid 22% peels from platinum (using your code, thank you for 20% off ) and once I finish the series I'll go glycolic 30%. How long after glycolic 30% do you recommend to do microneedling?

Hey Martin - thanks so much for the comment. I will share more about this in upcoming videos as I want to get more into detail about it. So why are you interested in moving from the UK to here? Sorry if I'm wrong, but to me, it looks pretty rough in the UK now. Things are changing so quickly. Sometimes a big move is just what someone needs.

Hey Holly, have been watching your videos for a while - mostly for the health related content as it resonates with my experiences in many ways. Saw your video about moving to Japan as I was thinking about moving from UK to US. Can certainly related to feeling "stuck", though maybe for different reasons, nevertheless I also feel like I need to move on. Would love to see a video about what is it in US that does not work for you anymore or what in Japan you think would be better etc. I guess what I am trying to say, looking at US as a new start or a better opportunity for myself, I wonder why people are leaving. I guess we all think the grass is greener on the other side, but it would be great to hear your thoughts.
All the best!

In reply to <a href="https://lifeanddiy.com/starting-over-any-age/#comment-332">Deb Lora</a>.

Deb, thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate your insights. I completely agree about not liking city life. I feel the same way! It sounds really beautiful where you live with your husband. I think living in a remote area can be amazing with the right person and circumstances and time of life. I really appreciate the time I've had here, but I do think it's time for me to move on to other things. I plan to live in Northern Japan and although it's quite rural for Japanese people, to me it will be a big city compared to the super tiny population where I'm at now. I am excited about it though. Thank you for being so supportive. It means a lot!

Hi Holly, I'm sure you've prayed about this and done a lot of soul searching. Yeah, you're so young and being isolated the way you are can be a blessing but at the same time a curse. I'm excited for you and your son. I live in a remote area of Arizona, it is lonely but I'm married and enjoy this quiet life. My husband and I would not like city life. We lived in California Nat'l Parks for many years. My husband built trails in the back country and I worked for the concessionaire. During the Winter was the best time because all the tourists had gone home.GOD put us just where we needed to be away from city life and drama. You have so much more to experience. Japan is such a beautiful country and the people are gentle and respectful. I think you'll fit right in, you seem very kind and gentle. Your son will be able to explore a new culture. I bet he's excited! I look forward to going along with you on your YT channel. Happy New Year, praying for you. Deb Lora

Sorry I didn't see the comment until now. Yeah, that is totally normal. I have the same thing after doing peels, or even doing microneedling. It often looks a lot better within a couple of weeks. Sometimes the skin just gets really dry and it accentuates lines briefly.

Get Thalia - I haven't seen anything like that about avoiding using them under the eyes. If you have any sensitivity you can just wash it off. You just have to be super careful to not get anything in your eyes. I personally use them all under the eyes - including some higher strength peels from Platinum skincare. Some of the best results I had - peels that helped get rid of lines around my eyes years back - I was using around 30-50% glycolic acid and it worked really well. Hope this helps!
